In a concerted effort to enhance public health interventions across Africa, the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), in partnership with its implementing partner, Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS), is performing initiatives to strengthen public health laboratory systems and networks in the West and Central Africa regions. This collaborative endeavor is facilitated through the Regional Integrated Surveillance and Laboratory Network (RISLNET) projects tailored for West and Central Africa.
Within the framework of the RISLNET projects, GHSS has achieved significant milestones in bolstering laboratory systems across the Central Africa Region and selected countries in the West Africa Region. Through strategic interventions and collaborative partnerships, GHSS has made remarkable impacts across all nine countries in the Central Africa Region and six countries in the West Africa Region.
The efforts undertaken by Africa CDC and GHSS underscore a collective commitment to fortifying public health infrastructure and capabilities, crucial for effective disease surveillance, detection, and response. By strengthening laboratory systems and networks, these initiatives contribute to enhancing the overall resilience of healthcare systems in Africa.
