Expanding Efforts and Strategies to Protect and Improve Public Health in Central Africa Region

In today’s globally connected world, disease threats can spread faster and more unpredictably than ever before. It is more evident now than ever, that a disease threat anywhere is a threat everywhere, since pathogens don’t respect any borders. The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infection that started in Wuhan, China and rapidly spread throughout the world and within a few months became the most devastating pandemic of our time.

Global Health Systems Solutions in collaboration with Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) and other regional groups like West Africa Health Organization (WAHO), is engaged in strengthening public health systems and institutions in nine countries in Central Africa Region (Chad, Cameroon, Republic of Central Africa, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tome and Principe, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Burundi), and 14 Countries in West Africa region (Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Niger, Ghana, Cote D’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Mali, Senegal, Cape Verde, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Gambia, Republic of Guinea Bissau)
