Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS) is collaborating with the Cameroon Ministry of Public Health (MoH) to facilitate universal healthcare access for the country’s population. In line with this initiative, GHSS supports the MoH in executing a universal health coverage campaign across eight health districts in Cameroon.
The campaign, which involves enrollment agents, field supervisors, and MoH personnel, is being implemented in the Dschang, Bafoussam, Bamenda 3, Santa, Buea, Bangem, Tiko, Bonassama, and Limbe health districts. The campaign’s main activities, which include pre-enrolment within the community and
enrolment at the health facility level, are crucial to our collective mission. Phase 1’s enrolments target children 0-5 year’s old, pregnant women, persons on dialysis, persons living with HIV, and persons affected by TB.
Enrollers leveraged the start of the school year to enroll pupils, students, and teachers who had not yet been pre-enrolled. Furthermore, the campaign extended its reach to homes, markets, and community gatherings.
An integral aim of the campaign is to boost the enrollment of marginalized groups, particularly low-income women and girls, in the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) scheme, which encompasses family planning and sexual and reproductive health services.
