Recently, quality reassessments were conducted at Bamenda Regional Hospital, Limbe Regional Hospital, Buea Regional Hospital, and the National Early Infant Diagnosis Reference Laboratory in Mutengene. The reassessments were led by the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) and supported by Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS) through the CDC/PEPFAR-funded Strengthening Public Health Laboratory Systems project, with the aim of renewing ISO 15189:2022 accreditation.
The reassessment process reinforced the implementation of quality management systems, strengthened staff competency, and promoted the continued delivery of accurate, reliable, and timely laboratory services. All identified non-conformities will be addressed within the stipulated timelines to ensure sustained compliance with ISO 15189:2022 requirements, maintain accreditation status, and further improve patient care outcomes.
