The Republic of Congo recently launched start-up activities for Phase II of the Saving Lives and Livelihood (SLL) Program by Africa CDC in partnership with MasterCard Foundation, marking a significant advancement in its integrated vaccination efforts. Between February 20 and 25, 2025, two workshops focused on updating data collection tools and enhancing the capacity of trainers and supervisors within the Expanded Program of Immunisation (EPI). The main aim is to integrate COVID-19 vaccination into routine immunisation while enhancing overall vaccination efforts for regions with low coverage rates. These workshops, attended by EPI health officials, representatives from Africa CDC and Global Health Systems Solutions (as Implementing partner), emphasized the development of integrated supervision grids, comprehensive vaccination records, and the importance of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures. Key discussions also highlighted the inclusion of mobile and outreach vaccination strategies for hard-to-reach areas, targeted immunisation for vulnerable groups, and the need for specialized vaccine administration and preservation training. These initiatives are vital for optimizing integrated vaccination services and ensuring safe and effective immunization practices across health districts.
