Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS) organized a capacity-building workshop on sample transportation from 5th to 7th August, 2025, in Kolwezi to empower key personnel and motorcycle riders involved in supporting the implementation of an integrated sample transport system in fourteen health zones in the province of Lualaba. The training aims to equip participants with essential knowledge and practical skills to safely and efficiently handle and transport specimens, ensuring reliable results without delays and providing optimal care to patients at the referring facility.
The workshop, facilitated by the Provincial Coordination of the National AIDS Control and the National TB Programs of Lualaba, was attended by bikers and focal persons from the Kapanga, Dilolo, Kasaji, Kapenda, Mutshatsah, Lubudi, Bunkeya, Fungurume, Dilala, Manika, Kanzeze, and Lualaba health zones.
This training was conducted as part of the grant implementation to develop and improve an Integrated Laboratory Capacity and Quality Services in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). Protective gear and other essential logistics were handed to the bike riders at the end of the training to ensure their safety and the secure transport of samples from collection sites to designated locations.
L’Hôpital Régional de Maroua promeut la Qualité par la Compétition Interne
L’Hôpital Régional de Maroua a lancé en janvier 2025 une Compétition de Qualité visant à promouvoir l’excellence et à améliorer la prestation des services dans l’ensemble de ses départements. Cette initiative s’inscrit dans le cadre du processus d’accréditation de l’hôpital et a été pilotée par une équipe pluridisciplinaire composée du personnel hospitalier, d’un représentant de l’hôpital de référence, ainsi que d’un mentor de Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS).
Le Service de Laboratoire s’est distingué par ses performances exceptionnelles tant dans la collecte des échantillons que dans les analyses techniques. L’Unité de Collecte des Échantillons de la Banque de Sang et l’Unité de Sérologie ont été reconnues comme les meilleures dans leurs catégories.
Leurs efforts ont permis au Laboratoire Central de remporter le Premier Prix d’Excellence Hospitalière, un Deuxième Prix attribué à la Banque de Sang, ainsi qu’un Certificat d’Excellence décerné à un membre du personnel.
La compétition s’est clôturée par une cérémonie de remise des prix présidée par le Directeur de l’Hôpital, Dr Fetse Gérard, sous l’égide du Ministère de la Santé Publique.
