Job Description

Organization information:
Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS) is a non-governmental and not for profit organization dedicated to seeking innovative solutions to strengthen health systems in developing countries for effective service delivery and surveillance of infectious, non-infectious, and neglected tropical diseases. We focus in three key areas:
improve laboratory systems and services critical for disease management, surveillance, and prevention; enhance field surveillance and epidemiological training for relevant animal and human-health to mitigate threats posed by diseases; and improve service delivery at all health levels.

Our major collaborators include Ministries of Health, World Health Organization (WHO), United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Africa Centers for Disease Control, Mastercard Foundation and several bi-lateral organizations.

Purpose of the role
In order to strengthen its operational capacities for the implementation of a program aimed at empowering youths in Cameroon, GHSS is currently seeking for outstanding, qualified and experienced Mentors in the Northwest, Southwest, East, Far north, Littoral and West regions to mentor beneficiaries of the said program in some educational and economic sectors.

Primary duties and responsibilities

• Provide mentorship and guidance to individuals participating in the educational and economic empowerment project within the designated sectors;
• Share expertise, practical knowledge, and industry insights to enhance the skills and competencies of program participants;
• Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and mentoring activities tailored to each specific sector to promote learning and skill development;
• Offer personalized support and advice to assist participants in achieving their educational and economic goals within the sector;
• Collaborate with project coordinators to assess participant progress, identify areas for improvement, and provide feedback for program enhancement;
• Encourage innovation, creativity, and sustainable practices within each sector to foster economic growth and empowerment.​

Education & Experience

Academic requirements and relevant experience

• Professional qualifications in any economic or educational sector cited above with demonstrated expertise.
• Commitment to promoting education, economic empowerment, and sustainable development.
• Experience mentoring youths will be an asset.
• Experience working with NGOs, Government agencies, or international organizations will equally be considered as an asset

Languages

• Proficiency in written and spoken English and French.

Remuneration

• The salary for this position is very competitive, attractive and negotiable.
• This is a part time position for a six (6) month contract with the possibility to renew
