Job Description
Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS) is a non-governmental and not-for-profit organization dedicated to seeking innovative solutions to
strengthen health systems in developing countries for effective service delivery and surveillance of infectious, non-infectious, and neglected tropical diseases. We focus on four key areas: strengthening laboratory systems services and networks for efficient healthcare delivery,
strengthening disease surveillance systems and facilitating healthcare delivery programs, conducting operational research to inform health decisions for better patient outcomes, and empowering youths in Cameroon.
Our major collaborators include Ministries of Health, World Health Organization (WHO), United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Africa Centers for Disease Control, Mastercard Foundation, and several bi-lateral organizations.
Purpose of role:
To support the establishment and operational effectiveness of a biorepository, ensuring the proper collection, processing, storage, and distribution of biological samples while maintaining compliance with ethical, regulatory, and quality standards.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of biorepository protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define the scope, goals, and operational framework of the biorepository
- Implement data quality control measures to ensure accurate and complete records
- Monitor compliance with ethical, regulatory, and quality standards related to biobanking
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of biorepository operations to identify areas for improvement
- Ensure that biorepository facilities and equipment are maintained according to established protocols and safety standards
- Assist in troubleshooting any technical issues related to sample storage or processing
- Prepare reports on biorepository activities, including sample usage, compliance status, and operational challenges
- Maintain accurate documentation of all processes, protocols, and training activities

Must Have
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field such as biology, life sciences, laboratory sciences, or
blood banking. - A minimum of three (03) years of relevant work experience in laboratory practices,
biobanking, or related fields is preferred. - Knowledge of implementing laboratory quality management systems and understanding
regulatory requirements related to biorepositories and biosafety standards.
